Lately, each weekend seems to be even bigger than the last and that trend continues this weekend with two great chances in feature races in Melbourne and Brisbane.

In Melbourne, Benelli is right on track for the Winter Championship Final at Flemington.  He has impressed at each of his three runs in Australia since coming over from New Zealand including a last start victory at Sandown.  Benelli has been set for this race for some time and is in great condition to continue his winning streak.  Leading jockey Craig Williams will take the ride.  Good luck to owners Michael Manion and Jenny Laming.

Phaze Action was excellent last week when finishing second in the Caloundra Cup.  The extra distance and weaker field is perfect for Phaze Action who looks set to go one better and take out the Queensland Cup.  A win on Saturday will see his career earnings exceed $350,000.  Win, lose or draw, Phaze Action will go for a spell after Saturday’s race before his next campaign is mapped out.  Damian Browne will again take the ride on Saturday.  Good luck to owners Ian MacDonald, Robert Date and Paul Smith.

Dick Karreman owned Crossthestart will round out the Laming’s team of runners on Saturday when he tries to make it two in a row in Race 1 at Eagle Farm.  Fresh from his win on Ipswich Cup day, Crossthestart again looks hard to beat with Jim Byrne in the saddle.  Good luck to Dick.
