Two-year-old filly Ringa Ringa Rosie kicked off a landmark day for Laming Racing with a win in the Listed Hampden Stakes at Doomben.
The daughter of first season sire Bradbury’s Luck produced a scintillating finishing burst to score a soft win on the line after coming from near last on the home turn. The official winning margin was 1 1/2 lengths.
After his first ride on the huge filly, top jockey Chris Munce was very quick to predict a bright future. "I’ve ridden a lot of top juveniles and she’s not as precocious as those but she has a Group One written all over her."
The most exciting part of Rosie’s win was that it was over 1200m and everything about her suggests that she will continue to improve as she gets to 1600m and beyond.
She is set to have another two runs this Winter before heading south for the Melbourne Spring. The Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes at Eagle Farm over 1600m is her main goal this winter.
Ringa Ringa Rosie now takes her career earnings to $128,100 from only five starts and now as a listed winner, she is worth a lot more once her career is over as a broodmare.
