The ever consistent mare Play Just For Me returned to the winners stall at Moonee Valley on Wednesday for the first time in 18 months. While it was quite a while between drinks, it never seemed like a drought as she is so honest and rarely runs a bad race.

Although her winning margin was a comfortable 3/4 of a length over the 1000m trip, we had to survive an anxious wait with a protest lodged by the third horse. Fortunately that protest was dismissed and connections could enjoy the victory.

The five-year-old daughter of Stravinsky was only going to the races for the thirteenth time in her career and managed to chalk up her third victory to already go with six placings.

The victory becomes a valuable one for her breeding prospects when her racing career winds down as she is now a city winner. The win has added to her good preparation thus far with a second placing in the Listed Oakbank Stakes back in April.

She now takes her career earnings to just under $85,000 and has no plans of stopping now. Congratulations to her winning owners Classic Park Bloodstock (Mgr: Phil Cater) and Jenny Laming.
