Monday's Magic Millions Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast saw our top filly Ringa Ringa Rosie (pictured) head towards the next phase of her life. She was sold for $250,000 to one of the country's biggest and most successful breeders.
While the stable and her owners were ecstatic at the price, it was also sad to part with her as she has been a real success story since being purchased as a yearling back in 2009.
Not only has Ringa Ringa Rosie flown the flag for our stable, she has been the pin-up girl for new stallion Bradbury's Luck as she is the only stakes winner he has produced so far.
Purchased for just $46,000, Rosie won almost $280,000 in prize money in just thirteen career starts. So to add her price as a broodmare, she has been a great asset to her owners Gerry and Stamatoula Carmody, Lynn Tipper and Jenny Laming.
For those who loved watching her race, we are lucky enough to have her little brother, a yearling colt by leading sire Commands. He has already been broken-in and we still have shares available. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
In other sales news, the Magic Millions National Yearling sale on the Gold Coast begins on Sunday June 5. In this sale last year, we purchased exciting two-year-old Dr Ichi for only $32,000.
Dr Ichi has had only four starts for two wins and recently finished second in the Group 2 Champagne Classic at Doomben. He has already exceeded $100,000 in prize money. Similarly to Ringa Ringa Rosie and Bradbury's Luck, Dr Ichi was new stallion Dr Green's first ever winner and first stakes placegetter.
