Talented stayer Crossthestart has made the trip back to Queensland to prepare for what is set to be an exciting winter carnival.

After two lead-up runs in Melbourne, with the most recent being a slashing fourth in the Listed Victoria Handicap at Caulfield over 1400m, Crossthestart will line up in the Listed Members’ Handicap at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Leading Queensland jockey Chris Munce who is a big race specialist is booked to take the ride and the more suitable distance of 1600m will ensure that he is going to be very hard to beat.

Saturday’s Members’ Handicap will be the stepping stone to a campaign that could include major races such as the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes, the Group 1 Doomben Cup and the Group 2 Brisbane Cup.

With placings already under his belt in feature Victorian staying races such as the Bendigo Cup and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Crossthestart promises to be a major player this Winter.

Good luck to his owner Dick Karreman
