Two of our most improved horses in recent months will take another big leap forward into stakes class on Saturday at Eagle Farm.
Face The Front and Fly With Me (pictured) have proven that they deserve a chance at winning a Group race and that opportunity arrives in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic over 1600m.
Fly With Me is coming off a second-up win at Ipswich on April 8 over 1300m. He has always shown good ability and has won two of his past three starts. Chris Munce takes the ride and Fly With Me is unbeaten at the distance.
Face The Front has really improved in the past six months after getting out over a bit more ground. He broke his maiden last year over 1700m, was then narrowly beaten at Doomben over 2020m and was a very unlucky runner over 2200m in a $100,000 race at the Gold Coast. Since returning from a spell, he has had one run back and will improve sharply with the rise in distance. Michael Cahill is booked to take the ride.
Both of these horses have been nominated for the $500,000 Queensland Derby on June 12 and are right on track. Good luck to their owners this weekend.
