Today, the 2009 Melbourne Spring Carnival is launched. The carnival lasts for 50 days in total and is the pinnacle of thoroughbred racing in this country.
Our team has been enjoying a great run over the past few weeks and we are working very hard to keep that run going right throughout the spring.
The Group 1 action begins for our stable this Saturday in Sydney for the Metropolitan Handicap. This race is worth $350,000 and is run over 2400m. Crossthestart heads towards this race with an imposing record in recent months. 4 wins from his past 6 starts suggests that a feature race win is not too far away.
A win in this race will see him likely to contest the Group 1 Caulfield Cup on October 17 worth $2.5million. This double has been completed by Railings and Tawqeet in recent years so it is not out of the question.
Lamichi is another promising star in our stable and she kicked off her campaign last Sunday at Caulfield over 1400m. After enduring some bad luck before the race, she settled towards the tail and ran home very strongly to finish a close fourth.
Her future looks very bright and success at the top level may come sooner rather than later as she will be heading towards the VRC Oaks worth $1million. A possible stop at the Thousand Guineas along the way may also be on the cards.
This Saturday also sees the first two-year-olds of the season step out and we are very excited with our team. Colts by Hussonet, Southern Image, Ishiguru and Reset are all showing great ability still have shares available. Some of these are very close to getting to the track so your investment could see almost immediate results.
