Guara Grove Beast may have caught many punters by surprise with his victory today at Sale but his loyal followers knew he was capable of a forward showing.
After being sent out as an outsider, Guara Grove Beast settled towards the rear of the field before a great ride from Brian Higgins where he took an inside run when all other riders elected to head towards the centre of the track and he enjoyed the soft conditions to score an impressive win.
Guara Grove Beast had not raced since his effort in the Galleywood Hurdle at Warrnambool five weeks ago and is now a possibility to back up on Sunday in a 2000m race at Cranbourne. He is then likely to head towards the Ted Best Hurdle at Moonee Valley on June 20.
Congratulations to the winning owners Berhard Terhorst and Geoff McGregor, let’s hope their winning run can continue in the coming weeks.
