A smaller contingent of runners this month saw the standout being Mitrust when competing in a BM64 handicap over a mile (1600m) with Damien Oliver on top of the four-year-old Bay or Brown gelding by Trusting out of Millie Rose, landed connections win two at start number (6) narrowly defeating Hell On Earth from Circuleight in a time of 1:40.50 with the last 600m clocked in a relatively fast 33.80 on a good surface.
Sporting blinkers Mitrust was prominent early pushing forward to lead the field with Ollie punching out by two lengths,to lead before turning for home.
On straightening, Mitrust ventured off the fence, as Oliver reached for the persuader, rating the galloper to perfection to score by 0.2 lengths on the line.
With Richard taking a spell in the short term we look forward to Bevan taking hold of the reins and attempting to secure continuing success over the next few weeks.
