Lightly raced 4yo Stravinsky mare Play Just For Me chalked up a well deserved win at Kyneton on Wednesday in the NMIT Fillies and Mares Showcase over 1100m.
After finishing 2nd, 2nd, 3rd and 2nd at her four previous starts this preparation, Play Just For Me went into the race with a few queries as she had never tackled the 1100m before.
Jockey Nathan Rose had her trevelling comfortably in the lead throughout the race and never asked her for an effort until she turned into the straight. Once there she was tackled but fought extremely well to hold off all challengers.
Play Just For Me now has the impressive record of 6 career starts for 2 wins and four placings and more than $40,000 in prizemoney.
Congratulations to the winning owners Jenny Laming and Phillip and Kerrie Cater of Classic Park Bloodstock.
