The two state Laming training establishments continue to race well throughout the month of July supporting placed and winners for connections of our trained runners.
The 13th of July at Sandown Hillside, the Laming prepared Nerone lept barrier (9) at odds of $6-1 and dismissed the heavy 10 surface for benchmark 78 runners under Craig Williams to score a convincing 1.5 length victory over Reckoning with Seb Song the third runner in, in a race time of 1:30.58.
Nerone is no stranger to victory with the six year old bay gelding by Hallowed Crown out of Rosa Raisa having start 26 to chalk up win 6, handing connections prizemoney thus far of $190,000.
On the 24th of July at Sale saw the ever competitive Pure Deal score back to back wins, this time over 2200 m by a narrow margin to That’s Incranibull from Token Spirit in a time of 2:19.99 when piloted perfectly at a big weight under Michael Walker left barrier 8 to score the benchmark 64 in fine fashion at start 26 bringing up win 6 for the Dundeel x Elegant Attire five year old bay gelding.
Pure Deal had been good to punters with wins at his last two runs either side of a hurdle trial.
On the 30th of July, Apataki competed at the Gold Coast over 1350 m when racing on a good 4 under Craig Robertson left barrier (1) scoring the maiden prize for three-year-olds by 3-1/4 of a length to Spill The Secret with Going To The Sun third home in a time of 1:20.26.
Apataki, by Darci Brahma out of Polynesia is a four-year-old late starter transferring to the Laming yard after one barrier trial and chalked up win one at start 2 after a first up disappointment at the same venue.
