This Saturday, we travel across the border to Adelaide with three live chances.
Promising two-year-old Image of Darkness resumes from a short spell over 1000m and is ready to run a great race. With the experience of his first preparation which included a fast finishing third at Bairnsdale, he looks very hard to beat. Leading Victorian apprentice Nathan Rose will take the ride.
From a two-year-old to a rising eight-year-old, Chiefcomingfirst (pictured) has chalked up plenty of frequent flyer points lately as this will be the third state he has raced in at his past four starts. After always racing in stronger staying races, Chief drops down in class and is ready to capture the form that found him in the winners stall three starts ago at the Gold Coast. South Australia's leading rider Clare Lindop takes the mount over the 2500m trip.
Finally, Face The Front rounds out the line-up in a three-year-old handicap over 2035m. Like Chiefcomingfirst, he is also well travelled and will enjoy a drop in class. After a midfield run in the Queensland Derby two starts ago, he finished close up at Moonee Valley after enduring a tough run. Top young rider Jarrad Fry will take off 2kg and with the right run, he will be hard to hold out.
Good luck to all our owners over the weekend, let's make it a good one!
