After a quieter September then the previous month the stable in Cranbourne, it was the Laming Yard up in Queensland that featured a number of close finishes.

The month, however, belonged to Mr Storm who took out a benchmark 65 handicap on September 14 at the Gold Coast when Dan Griffin piloted the runner to a 0.8 length win over Gypsy’s Tip-with Madluce Missile the next runner in to arrive in a time of 1:11. 60 on September 14 banking connections some $16,800 for the outing.

Fast forward to 28 September when five-year-old Darci Brahma brown gelding Mr Storm competed, beautifully placed over 1350 m in a benchmark 70 under Michael Cahill, to land another good size cheque ($27,500), for the connections after scoring a narrow win when beating home I Dream Of Green & the fast-finishing Eric The Eel to claim win 4 at start 16.
