Lightly raced Stravinsky gelding Sea Skye produced a fantastic finishing burst to record a first-up victory at Cranbourne on Sunday over 1300m.
His effort quickly reminded connections of his last first-up performance where he missed the start at Mornington and came from last to break his Maiden status.
Yesterday’s win proved that better wins are in store for him this preparation as he keeps maturing. He now takes his record to 3 wins and 3 seconds from 9 starts.
Sea Skye was ridden by jockey Brian Higgins who rode the perfect race by tracking the two favoured runners before getting to the outside and letting Sea Skye avoid any trouble. It was great for Brian to get a win for our stable as he puts in a lot of hard work and hopefully we can combine for plenty more winners in the near future.
