Stationary makes it two-in-a-row
Sep 10, 2010
Lightly raced staying mare Stationary made it two victories from her past two starts with a tough win at Geelong on Friday.
After breaking her maiden at the Geelong Synthetic track over 2200m, it made sense to send her back to the same track over the same distance. It proved to be the right move as she finished too strong from well back in the field under the handling of in-form jockey Dwayne Dunn.
Her sire, Thorn Park was a champion sprinter-miler so it has been quite surprising that Stationary has come into her own over the staying trips. After only having seven starts, she is also showing plenty of scope to keep improving.
Stationary now takes her career tally to 2 wins and 2 seconds from 7 starts. Congratulations to her winning owners Ed McKeon, Philip Esnouf, Jeffrey & Felicity Kennett, and Luke, Frank and Adam Agosta.
In other Laming Racing news, the Victorian stable is pleased to welcome star filly Ringa Ringa Rosie into our stables. She arrived on Thursday and will have an exhibition gallop on Wednesday at Sandown before she heads to the Thousand Guineas Prelude at Caulfield on September 18.
